Drop And Dan Clark Audio Designed the Aeon Closed Headphones In Harmony

Drop have made a name for themselves over the past few years with their headphones, which they tend to make in partnership with established brands such as Sennheiser. Their latest collaboration is with Dan Clark Audio who have been making headphones for over a decade now. The Aeon Closed X Headphones feature some interesting materials as well as dual Hirose 4-pin cables from the headphones to a 3.5 mm plug.

The frequency response is a respectable 20Hz to 20 kHz and a 12.5 Ω impedance, fairly common for headphones of this type. The nickel and titanium headband has a leather suspension and as typical for Dan Clark Audio they feature a baffle in the earcups, in this case made of carbon fibre.

In the ears of TechPowerUp those baffles muffle the audio and give it a soft sound which is not their favourite. On the other hand that is exactly what they are there for and there are more than a few audiophiles who prefer that sound.
